Stoneville Furniture Company, is located in Stoneville, North Carolina, 30 minutes north of Greensboro, North Carolina. Stoneville Furniture began operations in 1933 and has been manufacturing furniture continuously since then. The company manufactures moderately priced metal and upholstered dinette and casual dining furniture. The chair product line consists of metal frame, swivel bucket and fully upholstered Parson Chairs. The tables manufactured by Stoneville generally utilize either glass or laminated tops on metal bases. The Company supplements its manufactured product line with imported products made of wood, stone and cast materials. By combining the various table and chair designs, metal finishes, and fabric and tabletop options, the Company can offer a wide rage of products from relatively few basic designs and SKU's. By manufacturing strictly to order, any unique combinations can be shipped within two to three weeks.

All sales are made direct to retailers. Stoneville's product fits into the popular priced end of the metal dinette and casual dining furniture market. The customer base includes department stores, major national and regional furniture retailers, small furniture retailers, dinette specialty stores and the rent to own industry. The Company currently has representation in the entire Continental United States, Eastern Canada and Puerto Rico. Shipment can be made in two to three weeks from receipt of order, the majority of which is shipped on company trucks. Utilizing its own fleet is a major selling point for the Company. The fleet is also used to back haul raw materials and operates as a contract carrier.

The Company utilizes four basic areas of manufacturing. These include high-pressure lamination and fabricating of tabletops, basic woodworking predominately for internal frame components, metal fabrication including welding and powder coat finishing, and upholstery and final chair assembly. The major inputs to production are particleboard, laminates and glass for tabletops, tubular and flat rolled steel for chairs and table bases, polyurethane foam, fabric and vinyl for upholstery, and various wood products and hardware items. While certain suppliers are favored due to price and availability, most materials are available from numerous sources. The Company has no long-term commitments with any suppliers.

Production at Stoneville can be best described as small batch, continuous flow, and is strictly made to order. Orders are grouped geographically when scheduled to provide for minimal freight cost, and are then consolidated for production in order to provide for the greatest efficiencies. The Company utilizes a MRP system to track raw material and work in process inventories and a bar code system to match finished product to shipping documents. Conveyors are used extensively to facilitate the movement of product through the plant. Stoneville Furniture currently employs roughly 260 people.
